Today is a scary day. No electricity, strong winds, almost horizontal rainfall.
Our house/church welcomed 100+ people to give them food and shelter because unlike us, who are still able to step on dry ground, their homes have been devoured by the waters Ondoy-style.
Coincidentally, while listening to some worship songs today, I have realized that a lot of lines apply to our situation:
Flood all the earth with endless light
Raise up the streets from death to life
Our God be praised forever
You’re there in the dark of the night
While holding the sun and it’s light
Through the triumph and trials alike
There’s no one beside You
– Rhythms of Grace
You can calm the oceans
Speak peace into my soul
Your light will shine in the darkness
Your light will shine in the dark
In the dark
We are Yours
– Light Will Shine
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still and know You are God
Pedring came to the country, Pedring saw the outcome of what he has done, but Pedring did not conquer. Why? Because our God is greater.
