If God decided to strike me with lightning each time I disappointed Him, I would probably be dead and burnt right now. One of the things I love the most is the concept of GRACE. As my friend Angel’s favorite song says:
The beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair.
And that’s true. If we are to get what we deserve, we’d be miserable—just the thought of being hurt as many times as I hurt God and others already scares me. And yes, God doesn’t want that for us, too. That’s why He sent His only Son to die on the cross as an exchange for our sins.
God has given us something BETTER. We are undeserving by our own and by human standards, but God gives us more than what we deserve. What we just need to do is to TRULY believe in what He’s done for us—and not use this grace as a “free pass” to live a life of sin, but instead use this freedom as an encouragement to be right with God.
I love grace. I am fully dependent on it and never on my own strength. I am imperfect but I am perfectly loved by a perfect God. Thank You Lord for Your grace!
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
